This is Palm Cove! Palm Cove boasts a wonderful tropical climate with the dry season usually is between the months of May through to October with the winter months being the coolest time of the year with the temperatures sitting at approximately 25 degrees during the day and falling to around 17 degrees come nightfall. Though you really wouldn’t think it was winter with those perfect temperatures! The summer months are between November through to April with the temperatures soaring to around 32 degrees during the day and dropping to a very comfortable and balmy temperature of 24 degrees of a night time. During the summer months you can usually expect the occasional shower or storm to pass through, as with temperatures like these it is needed to cool things off a little. But during summer all you want to do is swim, swim, swim in the crystal blue water that lap the shoreline of Palm Cove. Another thing to remember that is during summer you must always take precaution and swim inside the special made enclosures. These are stinger nets and are put in place for your protection as they population of stingers usually rise during the warmer months. Apart from stingers there is nothing to stop you from jumping into the water and enjoying a refreshing dip to cool off. Cyclones in far north Queensland can sometimes pass through between the months of December through to March so if you are planning to travel to Palm Cove or any other part of far north Queensland between these months it is always wise to keep an eye on the weather reports to just be on the safe side. With ocean waters being so calm around Palm Cove there is no surf so perhaps don’t plan on bringing your surf boards with this time. If there is a strong southerly wind blowing in from the south the ocean can get a bit rough but not enough to surf upon as the nearby coral reefs act as a break to stop any waves.
